As the name implies those tulips do look a lot like peonies!
A few years ago, I bought some pink double Tulips Angelique, gorgeous absolutely love them ! From then on I have been on the hunt to get as many double Tulips at reasonable price as possible, thank goodness Costco started to carry them especially last year they had quite a few selections of DT. So I ended up planted over 400 bulbs last fall… And here are some of my best performers, they are also my favorites:
Charming Beauty, name says it all. I’d say they are mid season. The shoots came up really wimpy, multiple buds on skinny little stems, I didn’t have high hope for them. But boy they impressed me when they bloom, stunningly beautiful!
Pompenette is very well formed double yellow tulip, pretty but don’t last!
Sundowners are bicolor double tulips. They bloom early and last a while. From distinguish bicolor orange and yellow turn into pretty much orange.
Honorable mention: These are single fringed red tulips, and they were mishaps, I ordered double fringed tulips called “Crystal beauty” online but they sent me these instead. Nevertheless they are still quite beautiful…
Note: Deer and rodents love tulips, deer eat the top and rodents get the bulbs. I planted mine in the cedar boxes my husband made for me, work out really well.
No one will bother daffodils by the way, because they are poisonous, and they are equally as gorgeous, and some of them are super fragrant as well, I really love them too.
Some of my daffodils this year:

Absolutely beautiful. I love your flowers!!!! I
They are all so beautiful, but I have to say the Pink Wonder really caught my eye. Definitely my favorite!
That is my favorite too. And the funny thing about it is that I never really pay much attention to them because their starting colors, that yellow just doesn’t appeal to me, and they are late, so kind of forget about them. But as I started to notice once they mature that beautiful pink just totally captivated me. Sort of like “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” kind of thing, you know, have to give it time, wait and see what they can truly offer.
I love all of the double tulips! They are so interesting to look at.
They truly are! That’s why I just love them!
Those are so amazing!
Thanks, Whitney.
I love the flowers. So amazing!
More coming, the peonies! Just hope the not too hot next a couple of weeks.
