I love love peonies! I’ve had some of mine for nearly 30 years, some for just a short 3 or so years. What I’ve noticed is that the newer varieties mature a lot faster than older ones which is awesome! Some of my new comers are as big if not bigger than my oldies… And the blossoms are ENORMOUS in size and MYSTICAL in color! I’m talking about my very favorite new collection “CORAL CHARM“! I planted the bare roots in the spring of 2018. They all went directly to the ground except one. And they seemed to have just barely survived 2019. But the one I planted in a pot did have one bloom in that year which made me very happy! Two years later in 2020, I got really impressive blooms on all of my plants! And this year, they have really matured! The plants reached about 4 ft tall, and the buds were gigantic, and gorgeous blooms were 8 to 9 inches across! The most amazing thing is that as the blooms age their color started to fade, and they faded to these indescribable beauties as you will see…..
If you adore Coral color peonies like me, there are a few more varieties available, Coral Sunset and Hawaiian Coral which is the one I’d like to get, and Coral Supreme which look just like my Coral Charm from some pictures I saw online. It seems to me it is not very easy to accurately find right names of peonies, at least through websites I have been looking except those fairly common ones. People hybrid them so much, and no wonder they look alike but only with those subtle differences. Also they can have totally different characteristic blooms on the same plant! So they are just all PEONIES AND WE LOVE THEM!
So gorgeous !
I love the coral charms!! <3
Such beautiful peonies. Lovely as they fade.
They truly deserve all the attention they get for sure!
